between 10th of october until 22nd October 2008.

The flight and the house (Casa do Lugarinho) will be booked meantime. RIG will be 4x 11el and BEKO EME Amplifier. More details will follow here at MMMonVHF when closer to the date of trip...

Rolf, DK2ZF, just reported from Madeira that he has arrived safely, all systems are running well. The site is Casa do Lugarinho - in the extreme west near Calheta. The holiday villa is selected for an absolute free takeoff to the west but somewhat restricted to the east. Blocked by hills to the north and northeast. Search Google for RMK Tours Madeira and look for the casa. Impressive Photos! This is a further field trial - its no a DXPEDITION - to check out the logistics (four pieces of luggage - 123 kg) to experiment with the qso procedure and to check out the complete equipment which consists of a FT-847, BEKO MOSFET-PA. Antennas are four times 11 ele Flexa horizontally mounted and a Kuhne LNA direct at the feedpoint. Same equipment are used during the last 12 months from home.

RX in JA window 144.081 - 144.082 MHz
RX for all other 144.128 - 144.131 MHz

Stations calling outside of her assigned window will be disregarded and - listed... Remain on your freq in your window please. I will - hopefully notice - at least 2 callsigns in an 10 secs decode period. After finishing a contact I will come back to your trace Will not tx 73s - just to save time will instead tx RRR -18
THERE WILL BE NO INTERNET OR ANY OTHER ASSISTANCE AT THE SITE. AMATEUR RADIO ONLY. Daily contacts will be held with Guy, DL8EBW for updating MMMonVHF. Check this website for any news...


LATEST NEWS de Rolf, DK2ZF, dated 2008-10-12 0630 UT

CT3/DK2ZF was happy to get qrv from 21 UT until 0330 UT these morning. The wind slows down and so he was able to get on air again - watch out next days the 144.133 MHz as well he spread a QRT (it can be only for a while...) - condx was very strange! he was NOT able to copy any US station until 0330 UT (we did copy Rolf mostly only VERTICAL in DL...)
